MPANZI

MPANZI is dedicated to promoting development and peace in rural communities through education, empowerment and improved health care and livelihoods. The term MPANZI is derived from the Kiswahili language used in East and Great Lakes region of Africa. Its meaning supports the mission and goals of MPANZI to mobilize and connect all who plant and nurture seeds of hope, faith and solidarity for sustainable communities of peace.

Our current work aims to support rural communities in 4 villages of Southwestern Kenya among the Maasai and Gusii ethnic communities to reclaim their livelihoods, rights and empowerment. We are founded on values of equality, the inherent dignity of women and girls, faith and community.

Mother and Child Hope for Education and Empowerment Organization (MCHEEO)

MCHEEO is a Tanzanian nonprofit organization, to work jointly on projects to reduce violence especially involving women and children.

YMCA of Honolulu
The YMCA of Honolulu is the largest nonprofit organization in the state of Hawai‘i, committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.  They YMCA of Honolulu is a vital leader in our collaborative initiative Come With Me.

Hawai‘i State Department of Education (DOE)
The State DOE provides resources and collaborative opportunities to enhance our school readiness components.  Family Hui is working closely with DOE to establish Family Partnership guidelines, trainings and toolkits.

Kapiolani Community College (KCC) Culinary Arts Institute
KCC excels in internationalizing its food service program, blending the techniques, traditions, and influences of Asia and the Pacific with the classical styles of Europe.  KCC Culinary Arts provides healthy cooking and nutrition workshops for our families.

Kalihi-Palama Health Center (KPHC)
KPHC provides quality, integrated health and social services to our community and all others in need of health care.  KPHC serves as a referral agency to Family Hui participants.

Parents and Children Together (PACT)
PACT promotes and supports healthy individuals, families and communities by creating opportunities for them to identify and address their own strengths needs and concerns and successfully realize their potential.  PACT serves as a partner organization and referral agency to Family Hui.

Good Beginnings Alliance (GBA)
GBA is a statewide coalition focused on mobilizing the community around issues related to children 0-5 and their families.  Family Hui works with GBA to advocate for policies that support young children and their families.

Hawai‘i Literacy
Hawai‘i Literacy is dedicated to helping people gain knowledge and skills by providing literacy and life long learning services.  Hawai‘i literacy serves as a partner organization and referral agency to Family Hui, supporting families at Kuhio Park.

Head Start Association of Hawai‘i and Outer Pacific
The Head Start Association of Hawaii and the Outer Pacific (HSAH-OP) ensures that children and families of low-income are provided quality comprehensive services to promote healthy and successful outcomes in school and in life.  Head Start and Family Hui work together through complementary programming to support families with young children.

Executive Office on Early Learning
The Executive Office on Early Learning (EOEL) guides the development of a comprehensive and integrated statewide early childhood development and learning system. The goal is to ensure that all of Hawaii’s children, prenatal to age five, are healthy, safe and ready for school.  Family Hui’s ED, serves as an Advisory Board member to the Office and team leader for the implementation of its action strategy plan.

Easter Seals Hawai‘i
Easter Seals Hawaii provides exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn work and play in their communities.  Easter Seals Hawai‘i provides Family Hui with developmental screenings for all families.

Honolulu Fire Department, City and County of Honolulu
Local fire departments in each community provide  Hui families with free CPR trainings.

Moms in Hawai‘i
Moms In Hawaii is a local online and “in real life” community dedicated to empowering Island mothers. Their slogan is “Moms Empowering Moms.” Family Hui and Moms in Hawai‘i have complementary approaches to supporting families and are working closely to leverage each other’s unique frameworks.
